In the beginning of February, my roommate, Megan, said that the Lawrence Humane Society was redoing all their cages and were looking for people to foster their dogs. We decided it was a good idea. Originally, Megan picked out a small siberian husky mix puppy, but when we went back the next day to pick him up, they told us that he had been adopted earlier that day. We walked through the building looking at all the dogs that had not been fostered yet and saw this little guy. His name was Sirius — but we renamed him Cowboy because (duh) he looks like a cow. He’s pretty well trained too, which is nice.
About halfway through February, my roommate Megan got a call from the Humane Society saying they had some people who were interested in adopting Cowboy. After some tough deliberation, Megan decided she couldn’t let him go, so now we get to keep him for the rest of the year.
I’ve never had a dog before (minus my family’s dog Mizewell, who was only alive when I was 1 & 2 years old) because my oldest brother is allergic.
It really is nice to have a dog around the house… they are always so excited to see you.
Cowboy is also the biggest cuddler in the world. He cuddles 24/7 when not going on walks, sniffing his butt, chewing on bones or eating. I’m putting some of the best Cowboy pictures up in this post.
